A self portrait study done while celebrating the end of 2 of my 5 exams.

I found it hard to make sure the camera was focused on the right part of my face, instead of my hair for example. 

Wishes do come true

Taken with the brand-new-second-hand SLR I got for my 19th birthday. More to come, I promise. This is of course my beach in PEI and the boys are my two brothers and their good friends at the cottage.

Morgan

I can't believe she walks now. You really can't let her out of your sight. Surprisingly she's still not too fast to take a good picture. 

I miss the cottage. All the smells of summer just take me back to the beach and the ocean breeze. I miss the sound of the waves. This one I took because we went to an art gallery and I saw a painting I really liked of a starfish and a beach in the background. I tried to mimick it with schells.
I took this last year on the beach at sunset. I like it because it looks like purposeful art and yet I dind't touch anything before I took it. The ocean arranged it.
I know it sounds stupid, but I long for the ocean. It's part of my name and it's part of me.

Not what I had in mind but....

So I have to move out in two days. I'm going ot miss my room soooooo much, it's about twice as big as the one I have at home if you can believe it. Before I leave I had this picture in my head and today I tried to take it, since Mitch is leaving tomorrow and I probably won't get another chance. I don't know, I like it, but it's not what I had in mind at all and I know I could have done better if SOMEONE had been more compliant. Ahem.

Toronto Visit

Made a tripple date and a trip to toronto. Chris and Grace, Laura and Alex and Mitch and I. Got crepes and hit Malabar, went to Black market and ignored Simple Plan at Much.

Fighting boredom in residence

So I was in a good mood and decided to take some awesome shots of me and Laura. I taped one of Mirela's white blankets to the wall above the extra bed and borrowed as many desk lights as I could. The main soundtrack for the shoot was Spice Girls.

Yesterday was a really good day. There was Mitch, and Chocolate Truffle Cake and pictures and music and Across the Universe comes out today on DVD. So I have to go to the mall at some point and get that. But right now I have an essay to write.

Deal

Yesterday my parents took me out to lunch here in Guelph. They finally asked about my marks and I had to tell them, but they weren't as dissapointed as I thought they would be. Maybe they are human and realize I'm in some unknown territory here. When they'd heard everything, my dad said he would make me a deal. If I get 75% or higher with nothing under 60%, he'll buy me that SLR I want so bad. I think I can do it, I really do. I love my courses this semester and I feel right at home in all the work. SO I guess we'll just have to see.

Speaking of cameras, I got out the old Canon and took some headshots of Mitch, because I felt like it.

Babies are surprisingly hard subjects. My cousin's 7-month old daughter, Morgan, is no exception to this. She is very cute and very squirmy. She loves Christmas trees and boxes that you can stack. She is full of smiles and my only problem was my camera's shutter had a hard time keeping up with her. Still, here's a pretty good one.
